FIRST LOOK: Conference program is out

The program has been confirmed for October’s Australian Natural Hydrogen Conference – with a clear focus on progress towards production as multiple explorers have now proved natural hydrogen exists in the Earth’s sub-surface.

We will feature nearly 40 speakers over the main two days of the October 22-23 conference in the Adelaide Hills wine region of South Australia.

We will have more information on the Australian discoveries so far, international progress on exploration ventures, new options to monetise hydrogen, and advanced research into the science of hydrogen generation. You can find the full program here, and registration, either in-person or virtually, is available here.

An example of the focus on finding uses for natural hydrogen is in the naming of our latest keynote speaker, Iwnetim Abate, a US-based expert from the prestigious MIT who has set up a company, Addis Energy, to commercialize his invention of geological ammonia.

He is Chipman Career Development Professor and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at MIT.

He completed his PhD at Stanford University and served as both Miller and Presidential Postdoctoral Fellow at University of California, Berkeley. Abate has been recognized as one of Chemical & Engineering News’ “Talented 12,” named a Bose Fellow by MIT, and awarded the Young Investigator Award by the International Society for Solid State Ionics. He is the principal investigator on an ARPA-E-funded project for geological hydrogen.

Outside the lab, Professor Abate is a co-founder and president of SciFro, a nonprofit organization that empowers African youth to tackle local challenges through scientific research and innovation.

Other keynote speakers will be named in the next few days.

Meanwhile, the latest sponsor confirmed is Faraday Geophysics. A global exploration company providing a range of geophysical services around the world, they are our latest Silver sponsor.

With three exploration companies in Australia, Canada and the EU, they provide services for the mining, geothermal, O&G and geotechnical industry. Their mission is to acquire geophysics data sustainably.

Don’t forget a technical workshop opens the conference on October 21 and there is a day-long wine tour on October 20 for those wanting an early networking opportunity.

We’re bringing together some of the world’s brightest minds. Join us.
